According to Scripture scholar John P. Meier, society during Jesus’ time would have had a small rich minority, and 90 percent of the people would have been considered “poor”.
Jesus probably was not poor, but he wasn’t rich. Fishing and carpentry — The occupations of Jesus and many of his apostles — were middle-class professions.

One way to pray the Scripture is to ‘take someone with you’ and talk with them along the way. For example, Mary Magdalene, or Peter, or Mary the mother of Jesus.
